Final Fantasy IX is an awesome game that has all of the amazing types of weapons that its predecessor, Final Fantasy VII, did. The way to learn abilities in this game requires is by equiping weapons that allow the character weilding it to learn new abilities. However, you are only able to equip a certain number of the abilities until your characters level up enough to equip all of them. Similarly to Final Fantasy VII, each of your characters has a fury mode that acts like the limit break. The summons also are learned by equiping specific items. The story line is also a rather involved one as are all of the Final Fantasy storylines. That's all I have to say about this game for now.

I favor the ability system in FFIX over FFVII, where the characters fighted the same (early in the game). However, if you miss a piece of equipment, you miss an ability. Dude, seriously, this isn't even close to old-school. It came out in 2000. Go pick up Chronicles and Anthology if you want the really good FF games(and Chrono Trigger).
